To my mother...

Submitted By: Deepashree

Even if the flowerbed awaits my arrival, Will it be as peaceful as lying in your arms? Will heaven bring my mind peace? When it belongs to the land you walk upon. Will I ever love and hate someone so much as I do you? Because though you taught me the voice of words, But was it wise of you to use those very words against me? I hate you to the fullest, yet I can't breathe a single breath without you. What am I without you? You are a symphony to my disarray of a life song. Yet you strike the wrong chords, having enough purpose for you to try to make me the likes of you. Why do you wish me to be like you? Albeit, ironically, you pledged your freedom to be unlocked through the means of me, Yet you cage my thoughts while you wish us to be freed? Tell me, Mother, was it worth enough that you let yourself bleed?
