Where your shadow lies

Can the night exist without the day? Can the tide return if it drifts away? Can the heart still beat when love is gone? It aches, yet somehow it carries on. The sun may blaze, commanding high, But my soul belongs to the softer sky. Where silence blooms and shadows rest, And aching hearts can find their nest. I choose the glow that doesn’t burn, The gentle light for which I yearn. It stays when every color’s frayed, And guides me through the paths I’ve strayed. My heart will rise where your shadow lies.
