Little by little, bit by bit, I seek the stars Shining from afar. I closed my eyes, romanticized: There’s no one like my mom. I had to go now; you know, we know, I know. When I come back, I’ll lay around. I will talk, you will listen, Giving you the part that we’ve been missing. You will cook, I will watch, Wiping my damp face on your drape, buzzing on the countertop. Soon enough, a day will come when I have to go now; You know, we know, I know. Getting in the car, drifting apart, Putting past the brave smile on my face, I’ll close my eyes, romanticize—There’s no one like my mom.
