Idols Don't Bleed, But I Do

They call me goddess, but only in temples. Outside, I'm just a body for their stares. "Respect women," they preach, posters shining bright-Then laugh at harassment on the street at night. Every 15 minutes, one report makes it to the file, But silence hides the rest, buried in denial. They touch my feet in prayer, but not my pain. Their devotion is loud, their justice is vain. Idols Don't Bleed, But I Do If I'm your goddess, then why this cage? Maybe worship is easy; respect is the rage. Your prayers are hollow, your praises fake. Behind every chant, another heart will break.
