The Growing Menace of War

The world once whispered songs of peace, Now cries for calm that will not cease. The skies are dark, the cities torn, From every wound new hatreds born. Children’s laughter turns to fear, Dreams of hope now disappear. Guns speak loud where love once grew, And blood paints fields where flowers blew. No glory shines in fire and pain, No victor stands on lands of slain. O humankind, choose peace once more— Or silence reign forevermore.
