Secrets of solitude

In empty halls, I wander wide, A solitary figure, lost inside, The silence screams, a deafening sound, As loneliness wraps its shadows around. The city roars, a distant hum, But in my heart, a hollow drum, Beats out a rhythm, cold and grey, A lonely heartbeat, night and day. I search for connection, a gentle touch, A whispered word, a loving clutch, But like a ghost, I drift and fade, But still I hold, on to hope's thin thread, A lifeline, that keeps me from the dread, Of being lost, forever alone, And in its darkness, forever unknown. So I'll reach out, into the night, To guide me through, this lonely place, And fill my heart, with a warm, embracing space.
