My Little Tree

The little tree by the old road fence Grew in the summer's Sun "I want to grow tall", said my tree And it grew so tall and free The little tree saw the brook running Through the bridge, sang the song all the day "I want to become like a river", it said Who finds its own way The little bird fluttered from the nest Flew across the garden that's best "I'll be the bird", said it and twittered For each day it can fly high and high My little tree stood on its tiptoes- Longing to find the rest, said it, "I want to grow up in the big world- And was that better of me?"
