Eight Years and You’re Still Not Gone

Submitted By: Akshit Raj

----------------------------------

Eight years, and now we’re unfamiliar faces in the same lights. Birthday candles, secrets, silly fights. Late-night laughs, endless talks we swore would last, Then silence fell, too sudden, too fast. Your laughter with them, mine unheard, Scrolling through memories, bitter and blurred. Every classroom still holds your smile, I hate your new mates, hate how it divides. I thought our bond would never end, Somehow, your name finds me every time I pass by. Maybe some friendships aren’t meant to stay, Some hearts drift, but the memories stay. I’ll carry our laughter, our fights, our light, Even if we vanish from each other’s sight.
